The Incredible Benefits of Chiropractic Adjustments
A research study performed in 2011 revealed the impact a chiropractic adjustment has on affecting the tone of the nervous system and overall health.
The findings demonstrated that the sympathetic tone of the nervous system was inhibited, salivary amylase was decreased, regional brain metabolic changes occurred in the parts of the brain responsible for pain processing and stress reactions. Participants had significantly reduced cortisol levels, decreased muscle tone and pain intensity following one chiropractic adjustment.
The study confirmed that a single chiropractic adjustment helped:
- Decrease stress levels
- Reduced the fight/ flight reflex response
- Relaxed muscles
- Reduced pain levels
The Ogura study proves that a chiropractic adjustment reduces the sympathetic-dominant state of the nervous system, reducing stress hormones. Chronic stress puts the body in survival mode, and blocks the healing process. Chiropractic adjustments help clear the communication pathways in the nervous system, allowing the brain and body to restore balance, relax and function optimally.
