Chiropractic is a philosophy built upon universal laws and principles of nature, which recognizes the intelligent design inherent in all life.   The human body expresses this intelligence of self-healing and interconnectedness.  In chiropractic, we see how proper structure of the human frame allows normal function of the body.

1. Universal and Innate Intelligence: The Body’s Built-In Wisdom

At the heart of chiropractic philosophy is the belief in a Universal Intelligence that permeates the entire universe.  This intelligence is responsible for the order and harmony we observe in nature, from the movement of the planets to the changing seasons.  Within all living things, there is an Innate Intelligence—a unique expression of Universal Intelligence—that governs the body’s ability to heal and maintain itself.  It’s the body’s own way of knowing how to heal a cut, fight off a cold, or bounce back from stress.  Chiropractic care helps to ensure that your body’s Innate Intelligence can do its job without interference.

2. Life Force: The Spark That Makes Us Alive

Life Force is the energy that animates matter and allows Intelligence to manifest within the body. The union of Intelligence, matter, and Life Force is what gives rise to organic life. The presence or absence of Life Force is what distinguishes life from death, highlighting the crucial role it plays in maintaining vitality. By focusing on the health of your spine and nervous system, chiropractic care helps maintain the flow of this vital energy, ensuring that you stay full of life and vitality.

3. The Power of Wholeness

The human body is an intricate, complex system, and it is more than just a collection of individual parts. Think of your body like a well-tuned orchestra. Each part—whether it’s your heart, lungs, or muscles—plays its role and everything works together in harmony.  When your body is in balance, you feel better, have more energy, and can enjoy life more fully.

4. Trusting Your Body’s Natural Ability to Heal

The human body is a self-healing organism.  Ever noticed how your body heals a cut without you having to think about it?  Your body is designed to repair and renew itself, whether it’s healing a wound or recovering from an illness.  Healing involves the replacement of damaged or diseased cells with new, healthy ones.

5. Everything Is Connected

Have you ever noticed how stress can give you a headache, or how a bad night’s sleep can make you feel off all day? That’s because everything in your body is connected. This interconnectedness means that any disruption in one part of the system can have far-reaching effects on the whole.  Your spine and nervous system play a big role in this connection, acting like a communication highway for your body. Chiropractic care helps keep this highway clear, so signals can flow freely between your brain and body, helping everything work better together.

6. Healing Takes Time

Just like it takes time for a plant to grow or for a broken bone to heal, your body’s healing processes require time.  Chiropractic helps improve the spinal structure to maintain clear nerve communication and improve body function.

7. Blocked Life Force

Life Force is the energy that keeps you alive and functioning. Think of it as the electricity that powers your body. When this energy flows freely, you feel healthy and full of life. But if something disrupts the flow—like stress, injury, or poor posture—you might start to feel run down or get sick. Chiropractic care helps remove these blockages, keeping the energy flowing and you feeling your best.

8. Trusting Your Body’s Innate Wisdom

Your Innate Intelligence is the ultimate healer.  You don’t have to think about making your heart beat or your stomach digest food—your body just knows what to do.  Chiropractic care respects this innate wisdom, helping to support your body’s natural processes rather than trying to override them with external interventions.

9. The Brain and Spine: Your Body’s Vital Connection

The Brain-neurospinal system is the most vital system in the body, as it serves as the primary conduit for Life Force. This system is responsible for transmitting the energy and information necessary for all bodily functions.  Spinal misalignment can interfere with these messages, leading to problems elsewhere in your body. Chiropractic care ensures that your brain and spine are communicating effectively, helping to keep you healthy from head to toe.

Conclusion

Chiropractic care is grounded in a deep respect for the body’s innate wisdom and its ability to heal itself.  By understanding and applying these core principles, chiropractic practitioners aim to enhance the flow of Life Force, restore balance within the body, and support the natural processes that maintain health. Chiropractic care empowers individuals to achieve optimal well-being,  We enjoy a more alive and vibrant life. We have a greater capacity to function, adapt and heal. We live with more creativity, joy and connection to life.

Tips To Quit Smoking

I don’t smoke cigarettes. A friend asked me if I knew ways to help stop smoking and I didn’t.  So I did some research and here’s what I found.  There’s a lot of ideas out there that I wouldn’t recommend (without having tried them) – medicines, nicotine gum/ patches, because it goes against my philosophy of using natural means to stay healthier. Here’s simple stuff that might help.

There’s a big mental/ emotional component to nicotine addiction to help cope with stress. Learning to discipline yourself with healthy strategies instead of relying on smoking a cigarette during routine/ challenging moments (in the mornings, breaks at work, with alcohol, when you’re triggered, after sex) will be the biggest factor in helping to quit.  You’re less likely to smoke a cigarette after taking a run or doing a meditation.  Anything that helps you stay healthy will build positive momentum and motivate you to take the best care of yourself.

Ultimately it comes down to will power, self discipline and making good choices, while having self love to be patient with the process.  Change is uncomfortable.  Many people experience the discomfort of detox effects and difficulty learning new ways to help relieve stress.  Chiropractic care is the ultimate way for your body’s nervous system to adapt and clear stress. This can be one of the most challenging addictions to break, but you can do it.

Healthy Supportive Strategies

Herbal treatments

Some herbal remedies may also help reduce cravings and nicotine withdrawal symptoms, such as emotional unrest and irritability.

Carrot

I know – I’m suggesting you chew on carrots instead of smoke cigarettes. I recommend them with hummus.

Licorice

You can keep a stick of licorice root handy and suck on it in place of a cigarette.

Green tea

keeps the system flooded with micronutrients and amino acids thought to help diminish the urge to smoke, and helps repair tissues that have been damaged by smoking.

Turmeric

Those who took turmeric eliminated three to eight times more carcinogens from their bodies as smokers who took no turmeric.

Peppermint

Peppermint has a lot of neurological health benefits. It is known to improve blood circulation and relax the nerves. Peppermint herb infused teas can help reduce cravings to smoke and rich in healing properties that can help clear the lungs and respiratory passages.

Ginger Root Herb

Apart from reducing stress, indigestion, cough and cold, it also helps to reduce cravings for cigarettes. Rich in protein, calcium, and iron, smoking this herb can also help relax the nerves. Teas or concoction made out of Ginger root can really help reduce cravings for cigarettes.

Benefits of Quitting Smoking

During the first hours and days after your last cigarette, your body begins the healing process as soon as you begin quitting smoking. Some of the early symptoms will make you feel worse, but they will get better. Let’s look at the healing timeline: (14)

1 Hour:  Heart rate and blood pressure drops, and circulation begins to improve.

12 Hours: Carbon monoxide from cigarettes is dispelled from the body, increasing oxygen levels.

24 Hours: The risk of heart attack begins to decrease! And, exercise becomes easier.

48 Hours:  The senses of smell and taste start to come back as the nerves begin to heal.

72 Hours:  Nicotine levels are depleted!  This is also when physical cravings reach their peak.

30 Days:  Lungs are healing and athletic endurance increases.

9 Months:  Lungs have healed themselves, and the cilia (small hairs in the lungs) have recovered.

1 Year:  The risk for coronary heart disease is decreased by 50 percent.

5 Years:  Arteries and blood vessels begin to widen, lowering the risk of stroke.

10 Years:  Chances of developing lung cancer and dying from it are cut in half. Chances of mouth, throat and pancreatic cancer are also significantly reduced.

15 Years:  Likelihood of developing coronary heart disease is equal to that of a non-smoker.

20 Years: The risk of death from lung disease and cancer drops to the level of a person that has never smoked.

In addition to this timeline, many ex-smokers will see:

  • Skin starts to glow
  • Hair becomes stronger and shinier
  • Nails return to natural color and become less brittle
  • Breath improves
  • Teeth become whiter
  • Immune system functioning improves

Electromagnetic Frequenies (EMF’s)

“If you could eliminate certain outside frequencies that interfered with our bodies, we would have greater resistance toward disease.” – Tesla

EMF’s exist all around us both. In our modern technological age, they’re increasingly everywhere all the time.  We may not realize because we can’t see them.  The effects the 5G experiment are largely unknown but are increasingly damaging to our health.  Here’s what to know and how to procect yourself and your home.

Basic Understanding of Electromagnetic Spectrum

Radiation exists all around us and is in two forms: Ionizing and Non-Ionizing radiation.

Ionizing radiation is a form of energy that acts by removing electrons from atoms and molecules of materials that include air, water, and living tissue. It can travel unseen and pass through these materials.  Ionizing activity can alter molecules within the cells of our body and may cause eventual harm (such as cancer).

Non-ionizing radiation has less energy than ionizing radiation. It does not remove electrons from atoms or molecules of materials that include air, water, and living tissue.

Low frequency EMF radiation. They have lower frequencies than visible light and are non-ionizing radiation. Examples include EMFs from microwave ovens, computers, visible light, smart meters, WiFi, cell phones, Bluetooth, power lines, and MRIs.

High frequency EMF radiation. These have higher frequencies than visible light, which are ionizing radiation. Examples include ultraviolet (UV) light, alpha particles, beta particles, positrons, X-Rays, and Gamma rays.

Natural EMF’s

Electric and magnetic fields are an essential part of the physical and unseen world of our atmosphere. We have evolved with the natural EMFs of Earth’s and planetary magnetic field – the earth, sun and moon which synch with our healthy biological rhythms. The earth’s magnetic field is how we use a compass to find the north pole. Earth’s EMF is called the Schumann resonance (7.83 Hz). The sun is a big source of natural EMFs, including visible light and UV radiation.

Your Body is Electric and Magnetic

Our bodies are electrical in nature. We’re made up of atoms, including protons, electrons, and neutrons. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons have a neutral charge, and electrons have a negative charge. When these charges are out of balance, an atom becomes either positively or negatively charged. The switch between one type of charge and the other allows electrons to flow from one atom to another. The flow of electrons (negative charge) is what creates electricity. Our bodies are huge masses of atoms, so we can generate electricity.  Electric and magnetic fields occur naturally within our bodies in association with nerve and muscle activity.

We’re electrical in nature and our brains respond to the fields of energy. Scientists have discovered our bodies contain the magnetic material magnetite, in the human brain. Magnetite is a mineral that is especially susceptible to magnetic attraction, and allows us to respond to external fields.

EMF’s Negative Effects On Health

Excessive and chronic levels of radiation in your environment can lead to nervous system imbalances from neurotoxicity.

At the cellular level, EMF waves interrupt major enzymatic processes in the body. Mitochondria and liver enzymes operate based on electrical conductivity and light energy. Our mitochondria sense EMFs as an environmental danger and release an immune reaction of inflammatory cytokines and endotoxins. This immune response causes internal stress and increases our susceptibility to contracting acute and chronic disease. This may lead to the following malfunctions:

  • Memory loss and Dementia
  • Leaking of the Blood Brain Barrier
  • Headaches, Migraines and Dizziness
  • Insomnia and other Sleep Disorders
  • Immune Deficiency, Infections and Cancer
  • Hormonal Imbalance, Infertility and Miscarriage
  • Mood imbalances, Irritability
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Metabolic Disorder, Heart Disease and Diabetes:

EMF radiation has been shown to interfere carbohydrate metabolism, leading to blood sugar imbalances and an increasing prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes. It has also been shown to interfere with the body’s metabolism of dietary fats, contributing to instances of high blood pressure, cholesterol and heart disease.

While these natural EMF’s are essential to your well-being and life, EMF’s from man-made sources — electric currents and voltages from the power system — are harmful to us. EMFs impact our bodies on a cellular level, interfering with our natural bio-electromagnetic functions, causing negative impacts on health including cell membrane damage, loss of calcium ions and DNA damage. Long-term exposure to EMF’s has been linked to significant diseases, including cancer, brain tumors, diabetes, depression, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and even suicide.  Studies also link EMFs to premature aging.

Sources of Artificial EMF radiation

Exposure to these harmful EMFs come from a wide range of sources including your TV, Wi-Fi, AirPods, Ear Buds, Bluetooth, Smart Watches, Infrared Saunas, Smart appliances, Microwave ovens, cell phone radiation, smart meters on homes. WiFi routers, WiFi-enabled devices, and Bluetooth energy.

EMF Protection/ Detoxing

“It is virtually impossible to achieve high levels of health in the 21st century unless you are addressing your EMF exposure.” —Dr. Joseph Mercola

Any lifestyle change that reduces stress (exercise, nutrition, environment and chiropractic care) can help with EMF related symptoms, but nothing replaces removing EMF exposure altogether.  Here are simple ways to reduce EMF exposure.

Buy An EMF Protection Cell Phone Case.

Avoid Body Contact With Your Cell Phone and Computer

Use Ethernet when possible

Turn off your Wi-Fi whenever you are not using it, especially when you go to bed

Use Airplane mode on phone at night when sleeping

Avoid Bluetooth-type wireless headphones

Get a Radio Frequency Meters Used to detect EMF Radiation

Grounding- Put your bare feet on the ground and allow them to soak up the Earth’s negatively-charged electrons, which help remove heavy metals and can reduce inflammation.

Spend More Time In Nature- Time daily to disconnect from modern technology
